Babilonia and Gardner began skating together when Babilonia was eight years old and Gardner was ten, skating together until retirement. The pair became five-time U.S. National Champions and won the gold medal at the 1979 World Championships. They quickly won the hearts of skating fans not only in the United States, but all over the world.

Even now, retired after 40 years of spectacular success—two Olympics, world and national titles, performing in ice shows far and wide—Tai and Randy are arguably the most respected and memorable couple in US skating pairs history.
